OK, Now this is just plain weird. I just received an email in my inbox titled “Unknown Lifeform In North Carolina”. Apparently a plumber using a snake cam (a camera that goes into a pipe) found what appears to be a slimy, undulating mass of life. This red-brown colored blob is very creepy looking and is absolutely real. When you first watch the video you think “this is BS” then you see the thing move!
It creeped me out at first. In the video that camera moves away from the creature and travels further down the sewer pipe only to discover yet another one of these creatures. Then when you think that’s all, the camera rotates 180 degrees and show yet another blob stuck to the wall of the pipe just at the waterline. This has to be one of the freakiest videos I’ve seen on Youtube. I never knew there were such things in sewer pipes.
Watch the video:
This is “Return of The Blob” kind of stuff. In a sewer pipe! Are your serious? This has got to be a joke right? It looks real enough but nowadays you never know. There are so many how brewed 3D and CGI videos out there it’s hard to tell. The technology is there to make a fake video of some “unknown lifeform” but is this CGI or doies this strange creature really exist?
I mean, why the hell are we still arguing about whether extraterrestrial life exists when we didn’t know that there’s little blob like creatures living in our sewer systems? Seriously… If we are only just discovering this new species, wouldn’t it be absolutely possible and most likely probable that since there is unknown life under our feet and homes, that there might be more above us in the deep reaches of space?
Search for Panspermia on Google, Yahoo, or Bing! I’m not saying the theory of Panspermia is absolute and correct, but it’ll certainly make you think about what else is out there. Also read my article on panspermia titled Panspermia – Origin or Omission it’s a pretty good read.
This new discovery, if that’s what it is, is very weird. It seems that scientist do in fact know what this creature is. I’ve read multiple articles that say it’s a cluster or colony of what’s called tubifex worms sludge worm, sewage worm, or lime snake according to Wikipedia’s Tubifex page:
“Tubifex tubifex, also called the sludge worm, sewage worm, or lime snake, is a species of tubificid segmented worm that inhabits the sediments of lakes and rivers on several continents. T. tubifex probably includes several species, but distinguishing between them is difficult because the reproductive organs, commonly used in species identification, are resorbed after mating, and because the external characteristics of the worm vary with changes in salinity. These worms ingest sediments, selectively digest bacteria, and absorb molecules through the body wall.
The worms can survive with little oxygen by waving hemoglobin rich tail-ends to exploit all available oxygen. They can also survive in areas so heavily polluted with organic matter that almost no other species can endure. By forming a protective cyst and lowering its metabolic rate, T. tubifex can survive drought and food shortage. Encystment may also function in the dispersal of the worm.
Worms living in sewers can enter a home through a drain or toilet.[citation needed] Care should be taken as the worm(s) can transmit a variety of bacterial infections….”
Other articles on the internet describe this undulating blob as form of Bryozoa as described on Wikipedia as:
“…Bryozoans are tiny colonial animals that generally build stony skeletons of calcium carbonate, superficially similar to coral (although some species lack any calcification in the colony and instead have a mucilaginous structure). Members of the Phylum bryozoa are known as “moss animals” or “moss animacules” (which is the literal translation of the Greek term βρυόζωα, “bryózoa”) or as “sea mats”. They generally prefer warm, tropical waters, but are known to occur worldwide. There are about 8,000 living species, with several times that number of fossil forms known…”
Looks like scientists know what this thing is.
But that doesn’t stop people from being freaked about it! What a weird creature.

So what do you think? Is panspermia the answer? Is it the answer we’ve been searching for, or is it just a convenient answer for a question that has no answer?
Below is Wikipedia’s entry for Panspremia and what it means…
“…Panspermia (Greek: πανσπερμία from πᾶς/πᾶν (pas/pan) “all”) and σπέρμα (sperma) “seed”) is the hypothesis that “seeds” of life exist already all over the Universe, that life on Earth may have originated through these “seeds”, and that they may deliver or have delivered life to other habitable bodies.
The related but distinct idea of exogenesis (Gk. ἔξω (exo, outside) and γένεσις (genesis, origin)) is a more limited hypothesis that proposes life on Earth was transferred from elsewhere in the Universe but makes no prediction about how widespread it is. Because the term “panspermia” is more well-known, it tends to be used in reference to what should strictly speaking be called exogenesis…”

So is this it or what? Was life seeded by a rock from space with microbes preserved deep within?
Before you go answering this question on a whim and on a knee jerk reaction think about this.
FACT: There are literally billions of life forms on Earth.
FACT: Asteroid Impacts launch massive amounts of Earth debris into space. Huge Asteroids have impacted Earth and blasted debris into space many times in the past. Some of the millions of tons of debris most probably had living organisms within the ejecta.
FACT: There are organisms on Earth now that can survive in the desolation of space. In fact an Earth rock would act as a life-capsule for microbes deep within. The only question is how long could the life survive inside in a dormant state.
FACT: There are microbial species which live in the great salt mines on Africa 2 miles below the Earth’s surface. Scientists have extracted water droplets suspended in salt crystals and revived the microbes. Even more exciting, these microbes multiplied and thrived once given the right environment.
FACT: Water bears (extremophiles) can survive in space. Look up “Water Bear” or “extremophile” on Google.
Hypothesis: Reverse panspermia is plausible and most likely probable considering time and number of past asteroid impacts… The ejection of material by asteroid impact from the surface or subsurface of Earth containing life that might possibly survive in a dormant state within pieces of debris. The seeding of life on other planets could occur given the right circumstances.
Variables: Ejecta debris is acted upon by the gravity of the Earth, the Sun, and by all other celestial bodies within our solar system. To escape our solar system and drift out into space beyond would not take long.
Problems: Survivability of microbial species and the lack of probability of the microbial laden Earth debris escaping the gravitational pull of every planet and asteroid in the solar system. This might not be a problem if the debris landed on one of Jupiter’s moons which some scientists suggest might be able to harbor some form of extremophile microbial life.
Atmospheric Entry: This may not a problem. The interior of a meteorite in fact does not rise sufficient enough to destroy life. In fact only the surface area of an incandescent meteoroid to a depth of a few millimeters is heated. The core and surrounding matrix remains ambient to the temperature of space, cold or barely warm. Some meteorites that have been found immediately after falling have been reported as only warm to the touch. This poses a verification problem and to my knowledge has not been scientifically proven. (please supply article or link to paper if you have experimental or verifiable data on this)Though witness accounts tend to be fairly reliable, verification of this is still needed.
So I ask you this question again. Do you think panspermia is possible?
